Eli Katz, M.D., treats adults and seniors of all ages. He has a unique interest in working with patients on issues related to depression and anxiety disorders including, but not limited to attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, manic depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sleep disorders, insomnia and mood disorders.
Dr. Katz has been Board Certified in psychiatry and neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology since 1986 and has wide experience in treating the full range of psychiatric conditions. Dr. Katz is suboxone certified and, in addition, is certified in the application of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS or rTMS), an advanced, FDA-approved, neuromodulation therapy used to treat behavioral disorders resistant to traditional drug therapy.
Dr. Katz earned his medical degree with honors from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and served his psychiatric residency at Hahnemann University Hospital. He has taught psychiatry at Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania. He has also served as the Medical Director for several psychiatric centers in the U.S. including the Senior Mental Health Unit at Santa Barbara’s former Saint Francis Hospital.
